Starting Oct 26 2017,  the Deloria Online Closed Alpha server will be coming back online for a Spooktacular Mini Event. Simply click on or interact with any Jack-O-Lantern throughout the game to receive a spooky buff. While attacking mobs (**and possibly other players) you will have a chance to unleash some hidden dormant powers inside you. These powers will give players a variety of different powerful buffs and looks. Creepy and familiar Halloween music has also been added to most the maps. You can turn this off in the options for the regular music, but that would be maddening!

Be sure to join us in Discord during the event for in-game giveaways, or for any help installing the game.
Deloria Online Discord Chat: (Discord client not required)

 - Open Invitation. Anyone who signs up on the forums will have access to the Closed Alpha Spooktacular event. (
 - A fresh database will be used, so all prior accounts will be lost and all characters will need to be re-created.
 - Server First code enabled.
 - Max level is currently 20. Quest and story lines also play through level 20. The level 20-25 zone 'Dry Lands' may be released later on.
 - All players who obtain level 15 during this event will have their account (not characters) carried over to the Open Alpha server, starting at the end of the year. All characters created with these carried over accounts on the Open Alpha server will start with a unique cape and an elixir of increased experience. These two items will also be given to all players during the Closed Alpha Spooktacular event.

** The first PvP battleground may get released during the event. It is a level 20 Halloween themed battleground which will reward unique items.

QUEST AND STORY LINES now take players up to level 20 and into 'Swindler Woods'. The quests have changed quite a bit, but should flow better than before.

NEW ABILITIES have been added for testing, including a few from the Fire Elemental tree and an Ultimate.

NEW PARTY SYSTEM (Groups) are here. Parties can hold up to 4 players and have a leveling system with 5 levels to unlock. Each level unlocks party wide buffs like increased experience, increased armor, increased critical strike, increased luck and increased damage. A Party will stay intact until it's last member disbands, this way parties can be passed on without losing it's current level. For the duration of the event, the experience required to level parties will be reduced by 50%.

PLAYER SHOPS are in need of testing and allows players to sell 5-10 items in town. Any player that can log out in town at night and keep a store open to test, it would be appreciated. I have made an effort to put in a lot of items ready for players to sell.

OUTFITS are in! Character bodies will now change depending on what chest armor they are wearing. Players can set a permanent outfit at the Beauty Boutique. Outfits can be learned from equipping armor, vendors, achievements and mob drops.

FOOD BUFFS are ready for tasting. Players can have 1 food buff active at a time that lasts 15 minutes.

ELIXIR BUFFS are ready for drinking. Players can have 1 elixir buff active at a time that lasts 1 hour.

Lots of equipment and items!

Hope to see you in the game!

News and Announcements / Deloria Online Closed Alpha Update
« on: September 28, 2017, 11:14:31 AM »
Here are a few things recently added/worked on in the Deloria Online Closed Alpha. I have added another layer of graphic rendering. All current maps and the Deloria Map It! editor have been updated. Some new graphics have also been added to the editor. I have also implemented the first part of 'Ally NPC' code. These NPC will target hostile NPC and/or benefit players. Currently this code is only being used for quests/story line, but will soon be used for a form of summoning for players as well.

At this time (with the implementation of new features) the new zones are not ready to be released for current Closed Alpha testers. I imagine the new zones to be released in the next week or two. I will still be putting the server up this weekend to continue testing previously added features and the newly updated Party code. I will also be sending out a few more Closed Alpha keys this weekend.

As always, join us in Discord for all the latest information and screenshots.

News and Announcements / Deloria Online Development Newsletter #2
« on: September 01, 2017, 08:54:23 PM »

Hey guys, just wanted to give another update on the current Closed Alpha status. As always, remember to join us on Discord chat for the latest information and screenshots! (link at bottom)

I will be bringing the Closed Alpha server back online either tonight or tomorrow for a couple days (Sept 1st/2nd-4th). This will only be a brief test over the weekend to test a lot of the new code listed below. Anyone that is selected as a Closed Alpha tester on the forums will have access to the server and their accounts.  Any Closed Alpha tester that needs their alpha code or help installing can join us on Discord. (link at bottom, no install necessary)

I will be away for 2 weeks in September so after this brief test this weekend, the Closed Alpha server will not come back online until Sept 28 2017. I will be sending out a bunch more Closed Alpha invites at this time to forum members. At this point I will be unlocking the new quest zones and quest hubs, as well as the elemental ability trees on the ability screen. Everything else is ready for testing as of now, and listed below.

* Any player that selected Cleric before will be changed to Mage when they log in. Cleric will not be released before a wipe occurs.
* As always, please post any bugs you encounter on the Closed Alpha section on the forums

I have updated the quest lines a bit, so existing characters may notice some irregularities with their progress. New characters should have no problems. I added a few quests to give out more Ability Points quicker. The quest lines flows a little better now too.

The new 'Pick-Up' quests were added. Mobs have a chance to drop items to start quests/quest lines. These items are not soulbound until read so can be traded in the Player Shops. These quests can only be completed once per character.

Players can now spend their Ability Points and learn abilities. All but the elemental tree abilities are ready to be learned.

Player Shops are fully functional now and players can sell 5-10 items in town, depending on their level. Players who log in and are able to keep their shop up to help test, that would be great.

Outfits are ready for testing. Character body looks will change depending on what chest armor they are wearing. Players can set a permanent outfit at the Beauty Boutique. Outfits can be learned from equiping armor, vendors, achievements and mob drops.

Food buffs are ready for testing. Players can have 1 food buff active at a time that lasts 15 minutes.

Elixir buffs are ready for testing. Players can have 1 elixir buff active at a time that lasts 1 hour.

New item sets have been added to the armory, as well as many new drop items from the new area. As always, there are a variety of every item and +1 and +2 versions for even more variety. There are also new and powerful quest rewards to obtain, and of course rare drops, including new outfits. Magic items were also added to the game, as well as Madrigals Magic shop.

- Player Stats
- New Zones
- New Quests
- Elemental Trees unlocked in Abilities
- Achievements (possibly)

Thanks guys, hope to see you all in the game soon.

Hey guys, just wanted to give an update on what has been happening with Deloria Online, as well as update on the current Closed Alpha status. As always, remember to join us on Discord chat for the latest information and screenshots! (link at bottom)

A few weeks ago I had the first very few Alpha testers online and testing the new Deloria Online world. Players were able to quest and grind up to level 15. This was a very early stage of the game, but it allowed me to test a lot of the basic and core features of the game (connecting, accounts, quests, basic attacking, etc). Although the world was playable, a lot of features were not yet active or still being implemented. Below I will touch base on things that have been changed or added as well as update on the status of the Closed Alpha.

The two main story quest lines continue further now into the next zone 'Swindler Woods'. Your Mage trials will continue in this area, rewarding more AP 'Ability Points'. This is the next quest hub area in the game, and focuses more on the story of the Brotherhood of Bandits. Some of the existing quests had some script rewrites as well as other changes.

New 'Pick-Up' quests were added. Mobs have a chance to drop items to start quests/quest lines. These items are not soulbound until read so can be traded in the Player Shops. These quests can only be completed once per character. Existing zones as well as new zones have pick-up quests added.

New item sets have been added to the armory, as well as many new drop items from the new area. As always, there are a variety of every item and +1 and +2 versions for even more variety. There are also new and powerful quest rewards to obtain, and of course rare drops, including new outfits. (see PAPERDOLL below)

I have made more abilities active, and by the time the Closed Alpha comes back up players will be able to start using their Ability Points to customize their characters. The new abilities cooldown code was added, so no more ability spamming.

The ability tree was changed again.

The Player Shop code is complete now and ready for testing. Before you were only able to browse other player shops. Players can sell up to 5 items at level 10 and 10 items at level 30.

The Party system has been improved with more onscreen text for other party members. Soon quest items will be shared with all party members.

I have added new paperdoll coding in the game. Player body sprites will now change depending on the armor you are wearing. When you equip a piece of armor with an outfit you do not know already, you will learn this outfit and save it to your character. You can go to the boutique in town to have one of your unlocked outfits always displaying.

Player outfits can be obtained from equipment, quests, achievements as well as rare mob drops. For example, you can obtain 2 rare outfit drops from the Brotherhood of Bandits in Swindler Woods and Dry Lands. Although quest and achievement outfits are soulbound, drop outfits can be sold in Player Shops.

The food buff code has been added, so you can now eat those Salty Sloth Chops! Players can have 1 food buff active at a time and each meal buff lasts 15 minutes. Food buffs will enhance one or more stats, as well as increase experience gains. Next step is added Cooking ;)

This code is still in early development, but is planned to be ready before Open Alpha.

As always, there will be some map, graphic and item changes.

As you can see, I am still busy adding new stuff but hope to have the Closed Alpha server accessible again for Closed Alpha testers within a couple weeks. That will allow existing testers to continue their story line, as well as use their saved up Ability Points. I will also be sending out another wave of Closed Alpha invites at that time. Remember to be signed-up on forums to be eligible for Closed Alpha access.

Players anxiously waiting for the game to be ready are always asking how they can help. Players can always help out with any of the below:

 - Word of Mouth: Spreading the word of Deloria Online is a great help! Bringing in existing and new players to the game is always great. There is also a lot of outdated information about Deloria Online out there (game sites, forums, etc). Contacting either them or even myself so I can contact them, will allow me to update the information about the game.

 - Graphic Contributions: Players are always welcome to submit any custom graphic submissions they think may suit the Deloria Online world. Forums would be the best place for this.

 - Moderators: After the game is back online, I will look into forum and game moderators.

Thanks guys, that's all I can think of for now. Thank you for your patience, and hope to see you all in the game soon!

- Finishing up the new on-screen chat and combat code. There was a lot to rewrite here.

- Remade the starter zone, which includes classics like Collingwood Capital and Outskirts of Collingwood. The previous start zone (Killik Island 'Merchant Cove' area) will now be used as a secondary zone that you can reach from the Collingwood Dock.

- Added a dock in Collingwood Captial that can take you to various destinations. Currently it only travels between Collingwood Capital and Killik Island.

- Announced second playable class will be the Cleric. Some of the previous mage skills have been moved to the Cleric class.

- 'Train Skills' have returned!  You will receive 1 Train Skill every level which can be used to increase your characters secondary stats, which can increase various stats (health, health regeneration, critical strike, melee dodge, spell dodge, max resource, resource regen, etc).

- 'Ability Points' have been added, and are used to purchase class abilities. More information on Ability Points at another time.

Thank you for the patience and support guys!

News and Announcements / Ability Ideas!
« on: April 07, 2017, 10:54:38 PM »
Hey guys,

So for those of you that haven't joined us on discord chat, I will share some more information since I haven't posted in awhile.  Right now I am in the process of re-working the abilities trees and redoing the combat code. I have also mentioned that the second playable class will be the Cleric. This will be the second 'light armor' class, so various gear will be suited for both classes while some may not work as well for the other. If everything goes according to plan the next two classes that will follow will be the Warrior and the Paladin (both heavy armor classes).

As mentioned above, I am re-working the abilities tree and have removed the Cleric skills from the Mage tree. The Mage tree will consist of the 3 elemental choices and the general skills row. The Cleric tree will consist of the heal and buff choices, as well as a DPS row and the general skills row.

Do you have any ability idea for any of the classes?  Feel free to post them on this topic:

News and Announcements / FRAUD and SCAM charges
« on: April 03, 2017, 10:28:09 AM »
It seems that someone is again illegally charging for 'Deloria Online'.  It's very upsetting that I have been working on this game since 2000 and have never asked nor accepted ANY form of money for it, not even a penny!!!! I have spent thousands on computer equipment, coding, web space and tools, yet never made a penny for the game.

A few years ago someone (I will for now keep nameless) was charging people for access to his illegal 'Deloria Online' clone, and people contacted me for refunds. I told them to contact the authorities. It seems someone else is again taking credit card payments for Deloria Online. I have NEVER accepted any money what-so-ever for Deloria Online, even people who want to donate (which people still email to day to help fund my game). I have ZERO method of accepting any payments.

Anyone that has paid anything for Deloria Online should contact the authorities as they are being scammed. ( is the only Deloria Online website you should trust. Please report any other sites that are using the name 'Deloria Online' or any of its copywritten material, and if you paid money for Deloria Online, contact your authorities as it was not through me.

News and Announcements / Latest additions & changes to Deloria Online
« on: February 23, 2017, 02:46:24 AM »
Hey guys, I wanted to take a quick moment and update everyone on what's been recently added to the game. People keep asking what I am working on and what's new, but I don't get much time to keep posting updates like this. I have been very busy making a lot of additions to the game and am coming closer to the closed testing to begin. I can't stress how much this is a new game, but I will try to go over a bunch of the changes and additions I have made to the game recently, and overall.

ON-SCREEN CHAT: In this screenshot you can see how the new chat is now on-screen. All the screen mumbo jumbo (combat/exp/item/etc) has been removed from that space and now is used for main game chat. There are many options for the on-screen chat, including font, size, number of lines to show, fade delay, and bold outline. With a click of a button you can bring up the classic non-transparent chat up in its place if you prefer the old style, or if you want to scroll back and review old chat.

COMBAT LOG: I have added a combat log that can be opened just like the classic chat. You can scroll and review past combat moves here.

FULLSCREEN MODE: I have re-added a fullscreen mode. The old fullscreen mode code stopped working when screens went to widescreen format. I have since rewrote a new fullscreen mode code that will maximize to 1920x1080. The game default game screen is now widescreen format 1366x768 and upscales to 1920x1080 when fullscreen mode is active. Some players will prefer to play this way while others will not. It's a preference that a lot of players wanted brought back.

BRAND NEW AUDIO CODING: I have rewrote all the sound and music coding to give players more custom options, as well as just upgrading the sound components to work and sound better. You can also now set separate volume controls for sounds, music and weather/ambient.

NEW HELP MENU: The new help menu has been redesigned and updated, while the emoticon menu has stayed the same :)

ITEM OBTAINED: With the addition of the on-screen text, many old screen text had to be removed (including item pickup/drop). The new Item Obtained code shows items you obtain from picking-up, stores, quests, etc. The color changes depending on the quality of the item. (bottom right corner)

NEW STORE & BANK CODE: The bank and store code were updated and improved. New features were added to the store like 'Sell All Grey' button and a new 'Buy Back' feature.

NEW ITEM HOVER: You can also see the new item hover from this screenshot. It works the same when you hover over an ability, but changes the information and icons accordingly.

ABILITIES: Abilities are a new feature of this version of Deloria Online, and pretty game changing. In this screenshot example I am using an AoE fire ability. With a wide variety of abilities already in the game, players can customize their character to a build they prefer.

ON-SCREEN COMBAT TEXT: Combat text (DPS and healing) as well as experience gains are now shown on-screen above the appropriate targets. NPC damage calculations are not in the game yet, but in this screenshot you can see one of the sloth hit me for 12 damage.

BUFFS & DEBUFFS: Near the top left of the screen you can see I have 2 beneficial buffs that are about to wear off. These are a new feature of Deloria Online and are written hand in hand with the new abilities code.

NEW PARTY CODE: I have rewritten a brand new party/group code. Group can have up to 4 players in them and level-up as players level-up rewarding increased experience, regeneration and luck. Parties can also be set to 'Open' allowing anyone in your area access to join your group.

ALL NEW ITEMS: I have started adding all the new items, rewards, drops and consumables to the world. I already have a fair bit. Like recent version, many gear have +versions, however I have also included +variations to gear to add even more customization. (ie: SameItem of Regeneration / SameItem of Precision). This will also give players a better selection of items to sell.

ITEM BOUND SYSTEM: The item-bound system that was added at the end of the last test is still active in the game and working great. It has been upgraded to support future coding (talked about below)

CAPACITY CHANGES: Players now have an inventory space of 20 (vs 15 before) and a bank space of 20 (vs 18 before).

NEW ACCOUNT & CHARACTER DATABASE: I rewrote the accounts and character databases to hold a lot of new information for new features I have added to the game as well as for future patches in mind. Accounts now work on an email basis and have 2 character slots per account at the moment.

FRIENDS REWRITE: The 'Friends' code was rewritten but will act pretty much the same.

DELORIA ONLINE UPDATER: The Deloria Online Updater got a major overhaul and rewrite. I made my own custom HTTP downloader for the updater which has been working much better than the old FTP updater. This also helps remove unnecessary third party controls which could sometimes cause register errors when installing. The updater is quite an upgrade from its prior versions and runs very well and error-free. If it encounters any errors or missing files, they can be fixed and replaced automatically or from within the internal debug menu.

GRAPHICS: Lots of new graphic additions, as well as modifications to past favorites.

SOUNDS & MUSIC: Many new sounds and music have also been added. I have also adjusted the volume on some previous sounds.

DELORIA MAP IT!: I improved my game map editor for public use and released it to the closed testers for testing. It will be available to everyone to test soon, and could be used for future game features .....

MAPS: I am finishing up the last few maps, then I can start adding the story line content and quests.

QUESTS: The second biggest game-changer, I am in the midst of re-adding the quest system. The old quest system code I was working on I had lost, but this version has improvements already that the other did not. I will show screenshots of the new quest system as soon as I start adding the story content.

PROJECTED TIMELINE:: After I complete the last maps and finish the quest code.

- Do combat and ability calculations. This will take a fair amount of time and testing
- Finialize any finishing touches and calculations and open the server to closed testers to start testing.

After closed testing starts, I will first focus on bugs, fixes and calculation changes depending on testing

- Player Shops. I want to add a pop-up shop for players so they can sell items in their downtime, or shop for specific gear at low low prices. This will also help the economy, give another source of income for players, as well as reward players who like to farm items. This will also give players a secure player to player trade.

- First 2 Professions. Right now I have the idea already setup for the first 2 professions being added to the game. I want to add enchanting and alchemy as the first two professions. I think they will work very well, but more information will come on that.

I think that gives a good idea of what I have been working on and what's to come for this new world of Deloria Online. I thank you for your patience as I continue to improve the game and get it ready for testing. It is much faster and efficient to make these changes and additions now before any alpha testing begins. Again, to keep up-to-date, join us on discord!

Cheers for now guys!
